 "Just be careful" 2009-10-28
By Lagunatic (Laguna Beach, CA)
This is a good product, but I wanted to warn people to be careful of using it if they have acid reflux. My gastroenterologist was very negative on this and other digestive enzymes, which had been recommended by a naturopath as potentially helpful for my severe acid reflux. He said that such products digest proteins and that, washed back into the esophagus with the reflux, can start digesting the walls of the esophagus. The take-home message is that people with medical problems should be sure to ask their doctors before taking supplements.
